CHED Partners With APC in CHEDx 2023

The Commission on HIgher Education, along with Asia Pacific College (APC) launched the first IT Summit in the Philippines titled “CHEDx 2023” last November 23-24, 2023 at SM Megamall Megatrade Hall.

The two-day event aims to “bring the IT and IT-BPM sector together with the academe and strengthen the collaborative efforts towards students’ work readiness and skill-backed employability.”

Various students, administrators, and faculty members participated in the event, allowing them to understand trends and practices in the current digital landscape, as well as establish connections and partnerships with participating industry partners.

Some of Asia Pacific College’s industry partners were present inthe CHEDx exhibit area, such as Globe Telecom, IBM, Accenture, Alibaba Cloud, and Kroll.

Asia Pacific College held a project showcase during the IT summit, featuring various student research projects and outputs. The featured research projects and outputs are the following:

  1. Implementing Incremental Learning to Enhance Real-time Smishing Detection (Nathan Allen Sinaguinan, Pallas Dale Fontiveros, Isiah Jade Tutor, Darcy Kaizer Medina)
  2. Barangay South Signal Village Webb App (Rark Mowen Alcantara, Jakerson Bermudo, Wilkins Caducio, Mikedale Dellera, Princess Joy Ferrer, and Mohammad Darwish Mustary)
  3. Detecting Local File Inclusion (LFI) Attacks with Random Forest Algorithm (Bryan Gel Fabellore, Elias Angelo Viguilla, Joshua Cudal, Joshua Timothy Ramos, Neil Albert Garcia)
