Gualbertsan Productions refreshes the APC Community with ‘HINGA: An Online Multimedia Art Exhibit’

Six SoMA students virtually showcased their quarantine artworks at ‘HINGA: An Online Multimedia Art Exhibit’ on Saturday, September 5, 2020, at the Gualbertsan Productions website.

Originally planned to be a physical exhibit, the art students’ project for their Exhibit Design subject was instead held virtually due to the COVID-19 situation. This innovative solution sets a new standard that artists could follow to showcase their pieces, all while respecting health protocols.

The artists showcased in this exhibit were Miguel Monasterial, Patricia Pangilinan, Eloi Igni, Jay Lacdao, Clarissa Lorenzo, and Exhibit Head Gualbertsan Sual, along with guest performer Kevin Rianzares who sang ‘Tahanan’ by Munimuni.

Adjustments are necessary during these times, hence the promulgation of the virtual exhibit. The ‘new normal’ coping mechanism of the artists inspired the art pieces in HINGA. The following are their works:

Miguel Monasterial: Aklat ng mga Lihim na Mukha – 16X20 – Acrylic Paint

Patricia Pangilinan: Balanced Breakfast – 12X16 – Acrylic Paint

Eloi Igni: She’s in the Room – 16X20 – Oil Paint

Jay Lacdao: Into the Realm – 12X16 – Mixed Media Art

Clarissa Lorenzo: New Normal – 25X33.3 – Digital Painting

Gualbertsan Sual: Kasalukuyan – 24X30 – Digital Manipulation

HINGA: An Online Art Exhibit was a success, and it made created a brand new platform for other artists to expand their brands, and express themselves despite the global pandemic.
