Engr. Stanley Brucal assumes new role as NU-APC Registrar

By: Philip James P. Erpelo

Engr. Stanley Glenn E. Brucal now enters a new chapter in his life as the incumbent Registrar of NU-Asia Pacific College. Formerly the Executive Director of the School of Engineering since 2011, he now inherits the crucial responsibility of safeguarding and maintaining the academic records of the school’s enrolled students.

Engr. Stan is a licensed Professional Electronics Engineer. As an ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPE) who also possesses a Master of Engineering degree, he is indeed a valuable asset to the school.

In July 2003, he started out as a part-time faculty member. During that time, he was a fresh graduate who had been preparing for the ECE licensure examinations. He momentarily stopped teaching for one school term in view of the board exams. He was then rehired in January 2004. In that same year, he was assigned to become the adviser of the Asia Pacific College Engineering Society (APCES). The organization had eventually split into two, namely the Association of Computer Engineering Students (ACES) and the Society of Electronics Engineering Students (SEES). He was the adviser for SEES until 2011.

Aside from his responsibilities at NU-APC, he is also the Vice-Governor for External Affairs of the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines (IECEP) - Manila Chapter. He is also a member of the PRC Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Council for Electronics Engineering.

His impressive track record is coupled with a personality that is well-loved by his peers. He loves to travel both domestically and internationally. He prefers to visit countries that have four seasons. He is fond of collecting books that touch on church liturgies and papal writings. Interestingly, he has more of these than his engineering and mathematics books.

He also dreams of studying abroad in order to enhance his knowledge on biomedical engineering. He aims to encourage students to explore this growing and developing field.

Engr. Stan wholeheartedly thanks Mr. Bryan Reginald Magbutay who has served as the school’s Registrar since 2011 until October 20, 2018. He is determined to carry over Mr. Bryan’s legacy of ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of services such as enrollment, monitoring, recording, and issuing of student records, graduation, and other associated services.
