KUDOS TO APC'S SUCCESS IN THE RECENTLY CONCLUDED ESGS 2017 at the SMX CONVENTION

Asia Pacific College (APC) once again dominated the SMX Convention Center in the E-Sports and Gaming Summit (ESGS) 2017 last October 27 - 29, 2017 at Hall 4 SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

One of the highlights of the event was the competition called GameOn 2017, organized by Game Development Association of the Philippines (GDAP).   All APC students who were involved are under the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology with specialization in Game Development (BSIT-GD) program of the School of Computing and Information Technologies (SoCIT).

APC’s entries, Hot Potato Extreme and Tree of Efa were both able to make it as finalists.

                Members of Tree of Efa:
                Charlene Altamirano
                Neil Diaz
                Jude Dy
                Aaron Navarro

                Members of Hot Potato Extreme:
                John Albert Sumalinog
                John Marvic Yao
                Joseph Benjamin Medalla
                Raphael Ervin Lopez
                Don Quisumbing
                Drew Manuel

Behind all these preparation was the all-out support from Ms. Rhea-Luz Valbuena, SoCIT’s Executive Director and GDAP’s Academic Representative;  Mr. Robert Besana, School of Multimedia & Arts’ (SoMA) Executive Director, who did a demo on Digital Illustration and provided table top games; School of Engineering’s Mr. Sergio Peruda, who supervised the Robotics Team, and the School of Management (SoM)  that featured  its  Stock Trading Application.

Lastly, our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Jojo Castillo (ITRO), Meanne Santos-Romero (Marketing), and Edward "Doods" Mendoza (Admissions), who have mobilized collaboration across various units in APC  to make this happen.  The collaborative exhibit really made noise and made APC's presence felt especially in the world of game development.

Congratulations everyone for a job well done! Go RAMs!
