CURRICULUM HIGHLIGHTS

 

:: Industry-Oriented Programs and Faculty.

APC's degree programs provide the level of quality expected from a leading IT educational institution. In addition to the technological inputs from IBM Philippines, representatives from IT and business industries are consulted to help APC design and update its curricula. With combined practical knowledge and real-world experience, courses are taught by competent professionals in their respective fields.

APC and its Industry Partners work towards producing graduates ready to meet the demands of industry. Integrated in the APC curricula are the actual business tools, equipment and technology provides a seamless transition for students to become competent and skilled ITprofessionals.

Thus, Asia Pacific College was established and operations began immediately.
Training Programs in information technology were initially offered to corporate clients in response to their needs for manpower.


:: Industry-Academe Cooperative Education Program (internship)

APC senior students enjoy considerable success as interns of top companies, including IBM Philippines, SGV, San Miguel Information Technology Services (SMITS), Microsoft Business Solutions, MyAyala.Com, Philippine Stock Exchange, Jollibee and SAP Philippines. In this program, interns are assigned to work full time in the industry for a period of six consecutives months. During this period, they are totally immersed in a real corporate environment, providing them with comprehensive hands-on training in doing actual projects and dealing with clients.

The Program provides a seamless transition for students to be a professional by instilling proper work ethics and developing skills required by the workforce.


:: Strengthened English Program

APC students are required to take a total of twenty-one (21) units of English subjects to further develop their oral and written communication skills. Complementing the program is the English Resource Center that offers English enrichment materials in print, audio-video, and CD-ROM formats.

The Program provides a seamless transition for students to be a professional by instilling proper work ethics and developing skills required by the workforce.


:: Periodic Application Projects

APC students, as early as in their first year, work on meaningful and relevant projects involving actual computer applications. The projects aim to improve students' skills in project development, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation. Furthermore, they are also trained to work as a team player.


:: Emphasis on Values and Professional Ethics


APC students are required to take Professional Ethics and Values Education subjects to develop their critical thinking skills in making ethical judgements. These are accomplished by examining different approaches that integrate values and ethical thinking into the classroom as applied to current and practical issues.
